Navjot Singh Sidhu signs his resign from the Punjab Cabinet

Former cricketer and current politician, Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned from his post, amid all the ongoing situation with the  Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
On July 14, Mr. Sidhu on twitter posted a copy of his resignation letter. With which he said, submitted to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on June 10, 2019. In the letter addressed to Mr. Gandhi, no reason for quitting the cabinet was mentioned by Mr. Sidhu.

"I hereby resign as Minister from the Punjab Cabinet"
 

 

"will be sending my registration to the Chief Minister of Punjab"he wrote in his letter to Mr. Gandhi.

 

 

On June 6, the Chief Minister shuffled the allocation and as the new area, Mr. Sidhu was allotted with Power and News and Renewable Energy Sources. For which Mr. Sidhu was not seen pleasured about as he sought the party's central leadership. With that, he looked to the "high command" by stating he has been spaced out unfairly while deciding the new allocations referenced with the poor performance of the party in the urban areas of the state during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The heat between Mr. Sidhu and Capt. Amarinder Singh has been flashing since 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

 

It started when Mrs. Navjot Singh Sidhu accused Capt. Amarinder Singh of blocking her ticket from Chandigarh for Lok Sabha elections. After which Mr. Amarinder Singh blamed Mr. Sidhu for not working and handling his respective department well. Furthermore, he claimed this being the reason for Congress's poor performance in the general election. ​
