FIR registered against Viacom 18 Private Limited and Shemaroo

An FIR has been registered last evening in Amboli Police Station, Mumbai against one of the media houses Viacom 18 which is under Network 18 owned by Relaince Industries Ltd. and Shemaroo Entertainment Limited. The complaint is against the Cheif Officers and Directors of the companies. The names of those accused in the FIR include Viacom 18’s group CEO Mr.Sudhanshu Vats, COO Ajit Andhare & others and Mr.Raman Hirji Maroo and Mr.Vinod Karani the MD and Vice President of Shemaroo Entertainment Limited respectively amongst other. 

 

The reason behind the launch of  FIR is the website Voot.com which is streaming movies without the permission of producers since many years. The companies have been earning handsome profits out of streaming the movies. The companies do not have relevant liscence.
