Cyclone Vayu changes it's route from Gujarat to Oman.Cyclone Vayu was predicted to hit the coast of Gujarat, but the winds changed its direction and is now moving towards Oman. But the danger on the coastal areas is still not lifted, as heavy winds and rain are continuing with their course.
As per officials, Vayu will still be leaving its trail behind on the coast. The core cyclone did not hit the land but still will be leaving its impact on the periphery.
The state authorities as precaution have already shifted nearly 3 lakh people from the cautious places to much safer arrangements done by the authorities itself.

Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani said,"According to IMD bulletin, Vayu, which was going to hit Gujarat, has moved towards Oman. But the administration will continue to be on high alert for the next 24 hours."In Saurashtra and Kutch the school will continue to be closed to maintain the security of the children, said the Chief Minister.Rupani said that the cyclone is no longer a danger but the authorities will continue to be on alert in the coastal region.
"The IMD said the cyclone no longer poses any danger as it (has) moved towards Oman without making a landfall in the coastal belt," .
Rupani told reporters in Gandhinagar. The cyclone is very likely to move north- northwestwards for some time and then northwestwards skirting the Saurashtra coast affecting Gir Somnath, Diu, Junagarh, Porbandar and Devbhoomi Dwarka with wind speed 90- 100 kmph gusting to 110 kmph during next 12 hours," the IMD said in a release issued late Thursday evening.
"Though Vayu started skirting from the mainland, the danger is still there in the form of heavy rains or blowing of strong winds. We are not declaring as of now that there is no danger. All our measures will remain in place until tomorrow morning. We are not taking any chances," said, J N Singh, Gujarat chief secretary, The airports in Keshod and Kandla will resume only by Thursday midnight, while the operation in the airport of Diu, Porbandar and Bhavnagar will start from Friday morning.To avoid any kind of damage to either life or property the AAI, Airports Authority of India has put a halt on these airport. The halt is of 24 hours starting from Wednesday.
"After assessing the situation and the prevalent weather patterns as per the locally available meteorological reports, it has been decided that Kandla and Keshod Airports will resume normal flight operations from 12 midnight Thursday," the release mentioned. It is also instructed that the normal flights will start their flying from Friday, in Bhavnagar from 6 am, and at Diu and Porbandar from 10 am.
