Hong Kong: Thousands of protesters protested against the government's plans to grant extradition to China, and thousands of protesters in central Hong Kong protested and disrupted two main highways. After Hong Kong was handed over to China in 1997, for the first time in the city, performing at such a large level. 

 

Thousands of black-clad protesters blocked the two roads near the government offices by obstructing them, due to which traffic was halted. Police on Wednesday took action to disperse protesters a few hours before the debate on the bill. Over 100 businessmen in Hong Kong said they would not open their establishments on Wednesday to show solidarity with protesters. Major student associations of the city announced that they would boycott classes to join rallies.
