Today, PM Narendra Modi paid his tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat before taking his oath today at 7 pm. He will be sworn in for the second time to the prime minister’s chair. Narendra Modi also paid tributes to Atal Bihar Vajpayee before his promising oath today for the second consecutive term at Rashtrapati Bhawan after his grand victory in the national general election.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his council of ministers will take oath under the administration of President, Ram Nath Kovind at a glittering and charmed ceremony that will be attended by world leaders, celebrities and politicians. This time, the ceremony is likely to observe record numbers of 8000 guests whereas in 2014 it saw around 5,000 people. The guest includes heads of neighboring countries, chief ministers of most of the states and the famous personalities of the entertainment world. This year, the families of the BJP workers who lost their lives in the violence in West Bengal are also invited. The oppositions like Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will the other attendees.
The past 24 hours witnessed several meetings at PM Mod and Amit Shah Home who is also likely to be one of the major inclusions in the new cabinet. The ones who are likely to be stay again in the minister’s list are Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Nirmala Sitharaman, Suresh Prabhu, Smriti Irani, Ravi Shankar Prasad, V K Singh and Ram Vilas Paswan. Smriti Irani named to be the “kingslayer” this time for winning the election against Congress President Rahul Gandi is likely to be rewarded with a big ministry in the cabinet. Apart from this, the big question still remains at the corner that who will be given big responsibilities like that of finance minister and external affairs minister.
As previously, Sushma Swaraj resigned from the position because of her ill-health and now, Arun Jaitley wrote to the Prime Minister yesterday that he did not want any responsibility in the government as he needs treatment. He wrote in his letter, “I am writing to you to formally request you that I should be allowed a reasonable time for myself, my treatment and my health and therefore, not be a part of any responsibility, for the present, in the new government.” He is diabetic and been critical on health after his kidney transplant last year. The swearing in ceremony will begin at 7pm today which will keep an eye over the chosen cabinet as apart from PM’s grand oath, the cabinet selection will be great to keep an eye on.
