NEW DELHI: Dehli's second airport, that is, Hindon Airport has been reported to be functional by this July. The Hindon airport is owned by the Indian Air Force(IAF). The IAF has permitted the use of airbase for civillian flights under the scheme UDAN(Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik). The airport which is near Ghaziabadh,Uttar Pradesh is constructed to lower the load of Delhi-NCR's oldest airport Indira Gandhi International Airport. It was inaugurated by our respected PM Narendra Modi on 8th March,2018.
Reportedly, Ghodawat Interprises had proposed the Ministry of Defence to allow the operation of RCS( Regional Air Connectivity Scheme) which it accepted. The operation of Hindon Airport will be profitable for common man. The airport will be connecting many inert airports of India in different unserved regions. Also, the cost of travelling will be much cheaper as compared to IGI Airport.
