South film mega star and an acting legend, Rajnikant today confirmed that he would attend Narendra Modi’s oath ceremony as Prime Minister which will be held on Thursday, 30th May’19. While confirming to his presence in his oath ceremony, he calls Modi a “charismatic leader” like “Jawahrlal Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi”. He said, “The victory is a victory for Modi. He is a charismatic leader. In India, after Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi, Modi is now a charismatic leader.”

Both Rajnikant and actor-turned politician, Kamal Hassan have been invited in swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi where he will take oath for his Prime Minister seat for the second time, after his BJP-led coalition won a 353 seat victory in the 17th Lok Sabha elections. Rajnikant assures to attend the ceremony and when asked about Rahul Gandhi’s decision to quit over the party President’s position, he said, “He (Rahul Gandhi) should not resign.  He should prove that he can do it. In democracy, the oppositio should also be strong.” Last week when BJP won the general elections through big voting numbers, Rajnikant tweeted, “Respected dear Narendra Modi Ji hearty congratulations… You made it. God bless.”

From the time Rajnikant has announced his appearance in politics, the eyes are all open him as for now he has not yet declared the party he would join. His interviews and tweets do not give any direct implications for his choice of party but keeps the media and public keen for his decision. On the other hand Kamal Hassan’s party Makkal Needhi Maiam contests the election. He has said that his party will contest all 234 seats in the next Tamil Nadu assembly polls to be held in 2021.

Unlike Kamal Hassan, Rajnikant’s comments usually remain dicey. He remarked before the elections that PM Modi was “stronger” than 10 persons fighting against him. Then, on the possibility of a mega opposition alliance against PM Modi, he remarked that “when 10 persons go against one person then who is stronger?” He asked, 10 persons on one side and one on another, who is stronger? With such questions he gave birth to other speculations that do not directly reflect his choice of party. In 2016, he was an opposing figure for demonetization. He was critical for PM Modi for banning high value notes in the country, but on the other side he remains to praise his work and now calls him a “charismatic figure”.
