The West Indian and Mumbai star batsman Kieron Pollard has been fined 25 percent match fee for his on-field dissent with the umpire decision during the IPL 2019 final MI vs CSK at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on tomorrow night. Kieron Pollard was the top scorer on the finals night where he scored an unbeaten 41 runs as the team finally succeeds in putting a respectable total of 149/8 in 20 overs. This day was special for the player personally as well as he turned 32 on Sunday but we witnessed another Pollard controversy as the batsman threw his bat up in the midair and took the strike at tramlines before walking across the wide crease to leave the pitch after a wide-ball controversy.
Kieron Pollard was clearly seen annoyed by the umpiring decision and it was clearly the Umpire howler. And the batsmen come up with his own way to deal with the wide-ball controversy.
At the last over, Dwayne Bravo bowled two consecutive deliveries both outside the tramlines. On the first one, Kieron Pollard moved across to play the ball and righteously Umpire giving it official delivery. The second one was way off the tramline and the batsman knowing that didn’t move out but the umpire failure to give wide ball results off in the much-heated controversy.
Infuriated Kieron Pollard ended up in drawing his bat midair in agony on umpire’s failure to give a wide ball.
Both umpires, Menon and Ian Gould then had a dialect with Pollard who afterward goes off to his normal play style and completing the innings taking Mumbai Indians to a par score 149/8 and also successfully defending to lift their 4th IPL trophy.
