The major Policy shift has seen regarding to Israel- Palestine conflict. India has voted in support of Israel at the UN’s Economic and Social Council to deny observer status to Palestinian human right Organization named ‘Shahed’.
UN’s Economic and Social Council , is an important body of UN, in this body Palestinian Organization wants to status, as Palestinian government says that it is human right Organization. But Israel claims that its a terrorist organization and have solid connection with Hizbullah.
The proposal to obtain status in UN got rejected by 28- 14 votes. Countries voting in favour of the decision were Brazil, Canada, Columbia, France, India, Ireland,Japan,Korea,Ukraine,United Kingdom and United States.
UN website says , “The Economic and Social Council decides to return the application of Palestinian association for Human Right- Withness to the Committee on Non- governmental organization”.
