A man in Dehradun was arrested for raping his 16 year old daughter for one year. The man is 47 year old and has two daughters, among whom he used to rape the elder one. Reportedly, he used to give contraceptive pills to the victim and threatened her to not to reveal it to anyone. After the death of her mother five years ago, she along with her sister and accused lived in Dehradun.
The victim is in class 10th and she did not tell this to anyone except in a counselling to her teacher. The teacher immediately reported the case to an official of Tehri Garwah district who informed the case to CWC who reported it to the police station. The police took immediate actions and the accused was presented before the court and later sent to jail. The sisters have been kept in girl's shelter home in Dehradun. Senior superintendent of police, Dehradun, Nivedita Kukreti said, “Police acted as soon as it got the information. The accused was presented before the court on Monday which later sent him to jail. So far in the investigation, it has been found that he raped the elder daughter. The younger one was saved. Also, the girl had undergone medical examination for which the reports are awaited,”
