During the first foreign visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the re-election as the Prime Minister, Modi and Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih held a meeting as the two countries signed six sgreements to strengthen their sectors specially of defence and security.
There were agreements on several issues like on hydrography, sharing white shipping information between the Indian navy and the Maldives national defence force. The other agreements included on te establishment of passenger and cargo services by sea, cooperation in customs capacity building between the central board of indirect taxes and customs of India and the Maldives customs services.
"Mutually beneficial partnership. Warm discussions marked the meeting between PM Narendra modi and President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. Focus on further deepening our specia relationship by expanding cooperation across sectors" Raveesh Kumar said on Twitter.
