Fire in the building in Surat, 15 dead & many people trapped

A fire incident occurred on Friday evening in a commercial complex in Surat city of Gujarat. The news agency PTI has confirmed the death of 15 children in connection with Gujarat's Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel.

 

According to preliminary news, most of the dead belong to a coaching institute which runs in this building. The news agency ANI has also confirmed 15 deaths by surat police commissioner Satish Kumar Mishra and feared that the number of dead could increase. It is feared that many people in this building of Sarathana area of ​​Surat can be stranded. According to PTI, officials say that there is a fire on the third and fourth floor of the Taxila complex.

 

Some people in the video being shown on the news channels are jumping from the third and fourth floors. Officials say that 19 vehicles of the fire brigade are present at the spot. A witness in this incident, Vijay Mangukia is a businessman in the same textile market. In a phone call from BBC Gujarati, he told that the fire took place around four and a half o'clock. They said that at first they saw smoke rising from the roof of the building and then the fire spread quickly. According to them, the roof was probably made of thermocol.

 

Vijay says that the tuition classes ran in the building and they saw some girls jumping on the roof of the floor from the third floor on the second floor. He said that the first four fire brigade personnel had reached the spot but later the fire started to spread, then the others were called.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted the incident and mourned the incident. Modi has said that he has asked the Gujarat government and local administration to make every possible help of the affected people.

According to the news agency NNI, the Chief Minister, Vijay Rupani has ordered an inquiry into the incident and announced the financial assistance of four lakh rupees to the families of the dead children
