MUMBAI: The fares of AC local train to be inreased by Rs.5-15 for single journey from 1st of June. This is after the Ministry of Railways decided to end the subsidy and end the discounted fees. The monthy fare will increase by Rs. 50 to 165. For the monthly pass the expenditure will be Rs.620 instead of Rs.570, while the maximum amo-unt will be Rs 2,205 instead of Rs 2,040. The discounted fares were valid for just 6 months, though they were extended three times till 31 May, 2019.
Also, the increased fare will include other taxes such as Goods and service tax and Mumbai Urban Transport Project. The increased fares is not much appretiated by the activists.
