Indian-American Woman Prisoned for choking Stepdaughter, 9, In US Home

The Indian Native Mother Shamdai Arjun, 55, from Queens, New York was prisoned on account of charges of second-degree murder.

The Indian origin woman is the US had been sentenced by the court to 22 years of imprisonment on account of choking her 9-year-old stepdaughter to death. The crime was labeled as “unimaginable” by the court.
Shamdai Arjun, 55, from Queens, New York was sentenced last month of second-degree murder by the court jury carefully considering the case for less than an hour in the front of Queens Supreme Justice Kenneth Holder. She was convicted to an undetermined term of 22 years of life in prison.
The Acting Queens District Attorney John Ryan after the verdict said: “The mother in these proceedings goes beyond all the bad. The mother had done unimaginable wrapping her hands around her stepdaughter's little neck and choking her to death”.
"The daughter was just a 9-year old girl. The law has imposed a conviction that will never lead the guilty party to freedom again. The conviction of the court is more than requisite in this horrible case," Mr Ryan said.
As per the trial testimony, on the evening occasion on Aug 19, 2016, the mother was spotted by an eyewitness departing her apartment in the Queens along with the ex-hubby Raymond Narayan and her 2 grandchildren aged 3 and 5. When questions arise on her 9-year-old daughter location, she said the eyewitness that she was in the bathroom waiting for her father to come.
The eyewitness, who spotted that the bathroom lights, has been on for several hours, informed the girl’s father Sukhjinder Singh and father was said to break the bathroom door where he found the child’s naked body in the bathtub. There were several bruises on her body.
The cause of the death “Manual strangulation” was confirmed by the report of the Medical Examiner’s office.
