With a surprise announcement by the 66 year old King of Thailand, Maha Vajiralongkorn of getting married to the deputy head of his personal guard forces has led to a shock to the people of the state. The king has been married and divorced thrice and has seven children. Queen Suthida, a former flight attendant for the Thai Airways was appointed as the deputy head commander of the personal guard forces in 2014. Later in 2016 she was made the general of the Royal Thai Army.
This announcement was made a few days prior to his coronation as the king of Thailand after the death of the longest reigning monarch, King Bhumibol Adulyade(70 year of rule). The coronation is supposed to take place between May 4 to May 6 in Bangkok.
Locals surprised by the announcement are happy and congratulate the new King and the Queen for their marriage.
