For five days, a 16 - year - old was raped by 6 including 3 minors. In Ongole, Andhra Pradesh a 16 year old was allegedly raped by 6 man out of which 3 were minors. The girl was harassed for 5 days. The victim was locked in a room by these men and was allegedly raped for continuous 5 days. All 6 accused have been apprehended by the police. They were caught from different parts of the state. The police also said they are continuing the investigation for further details.Like always this incident again raved out the rage of the public on such poor safety of women and children. The Home Minister has promised for strict action. District Superintendent of Police, Siddharth Kaushal told the reporters that when the girl on June 17 was waiting for her friend on the RTC bus station for her friend, when the accused approached her and tangled her in his talks.
She was then taken to his room, where all the other 5 accused arrived and allegedly raped her for five days. On Saturday evening, the girl somehow managed to escape from that hell and reached to the bus station. There she was rescued by the on-duty home-guard Venkateswarlu and Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Babu Rao. She was then taken to government hospital for her treatment. Her condition is now said to be stable now.
As per the girl's complaint a search for the accused was immediately initiated. Worthwhile all the 6 accused were caught from different regions of the state.
A case under various different sections of POCSO Act and IPC has been registered against the accused group.
"This is a heinous crime and we will take deterrent steps to ensure such incidents did not recur," said the Home Minister.
Energy Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy and Ongole MLA also condemned the incident.
