Vote India Vote: SC orders Election Commission of India to advance poll timings

On Thursday, May 2nd the highest judicial court of India, SC orders the Election Commission of India to advance the poll timings for the last three phases of General Elections on May 6, 12 and 19 on petition filed by two advocates. According to them for maximum participation of the Muslim community during Ramzam, by advancing the polling time before 7AM will give fair opportunity to people to perform their democratic right. India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned for severe rise in temperature, it will be difficult for citizens to cast their votes, considering the month of Ramzan and to avoid heat stroke and dehydration, the polling timings will be advanced to 4:30 to 5AM, exceptions will be there on some regions due to security reasons.
