CBSE: Class 10th and 12th boards to be re-conducted for only main subjects, Class 1 to 8th students to be promoted directly

CBSE to conduct in total 29 exams again. The Board will conduct examinations for only main subjects that’ll be required for promotion and which are highly important for the students in order to get admission to higher educational institutions. This decision is taken for the students of class 10 and 12 from Delhi’s North-East area as students had to miss their exams due to violence erupted in the area however the exams will be held as per schedule in the rest of the country.  The board stated, “The board will conduct examinations for only main subjects that will be required for promotion and may be crucial for admissions in higher educational institutions.


The circular mentioned that 29 exams will be held again which includes 6 exams for class 10 in North-East Delhi and 12 subjects for students of class 12 to be held across the country and 11 for North-East Delhi class 12 students only.  The board has mentioned that at least 10 days gap will be given between the announcement of the date sheet and the commencement of exams. In view of the coronavirus outbreak in the country, further details will be given after looking over the conditions in the coming days.


Also, CBSE has decided to promote all classes 1 to 8 students to the next class. This decision has been taken to prevent any further spread of the virus.  This decision was announced through a tweet by HRD Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal on Wednesday evening.
