Australia makes it to World Cup semi finals after 64 run win against England at Lord’s on Tuesday. The victory credits over to Australian captain Aaron Finch who had hit a hundred and nine wicket sharers Behrendorff and Mitchell Starc to book the team’s place at semis. Finch made exactly 100 in a total for 285/7 before England dwindled at just 221 all out with 32 balls left. Behrendorff took 5/44- his first five wickets haul in a one-day international and on the other hand Starc becomes leading bowler at the tournament with progressing 19 wickets. In his match against England he had a haul of 4/43.
England, the chart toppers in ODI cricket tasted their second defeat after their shocking 20-run loss against Sri Lanka. However, semi final doors are still open for England if they manage to win at least one match out of the two that are scheduled to be played against India and New Zealand. The man of the match Finch said, “There are teams that you have confidence playing with but I have had plenty of low scores against England as well. It was nipping around first thing. We were as tight as we could be and then took advantage of any width.” The Aus/Eng match was one of the most awaited one for cricket lovers and critics and now Australia being carried to semis easily the upcoming matches of England will be seen with even greater interest for letting know whether they make it to semis or not.
