Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out For Remainder of 2019, Might Make A Comeback For Australia ODIs: Report

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is all but set to be out of action for the remainder of 2019 as he will not be considered for selection for the upcoming Bangladesh and West Indies series. As per a report in The New Indian Express, the team management is not keen on pushing him back into international cricket. Bumrah had suffered a stress fracture in back ahead of South Africa Tests, which ruled him out of the series. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation for the problem and is expected to be fit soon. The right-arm pacer, as per the report, might only make a comeback for the Australia series which takes place at home next year.

Later, he will also be an integral member of the team on the tour of New Zealand and will also lead the pace attack. Since 2018, the Indian team management has been managing Bumrah's workload to keep him fit. He was rested for Nidahas Trophy, Afghanistan Test and the home Test series against West Indies. After a grueling Test series against Australia, he was also rested for the ODI series against Australia and the series against New Zealand. Bumrah later played Australia series, IPL, World Cup but was rested for the limited-overs series against West Indies. He was also given rest for South Africa T20Is and was to make his comeback for the Test series, which he is missing due to stress fracture.
