Student hailed as a hero for tackling gunman in North Carolina shooting

A news flashed at the screens of computers laptops and mobile phones which said run hide fight secure yourself immediately. there is a gun man. but rilley howell could run nor hide because the gun man was in his classroom and alredy fired several rounds of bullets. so he charged towards him ad pinned him down until police officers arrived. 

“But for his work, the assailant may not have been disarmed,” Chief Kerr Putney of the Charlotte-Mecklenberg Police Department said of Howell, who was among six victims of a mass shooting at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte campus Tuesday evening. “Unfortunately, he gave his life in the process. But his sacrifice saved lives.”

on wednesday when teachers and students were reeling towards the incident where two were ded including howell and four were injured. this could have been even worse if he had not intervened. “He is my hero,” said Howell’s girlfriend of nearly six years, Lauren Westmoreland, who said she was overcome with grief. “But he’s just my angel now, as well.”

police men identified the gun man as  Trystan Andrew Terrell, 22. he has been charged with two murders and four attempted murders. he bought the gun legally. putney had decided not to tell the motive of the gunman or even if the crowded classroom was his target
