You may have heard about it long back since you were a child from your yoga teacher, but you may have never taken it seriously or you may have tried doing it, but never committed to…. A question might have popped in your head, ‘How do these yoga asanas benefit us?’ No wonder! It’ll work miracles. Tadasana improves posture, strengthens muscles, steadies breathing, increases mobility and firms abdomen and buttocks. Uttanasana relieves us from stress & anxiety, provides a deep shoulder, arms and legs to stretch, tightens the shoulders and brings blood back to the brain. Trikonasana improves our balance and concentration power as well as removes excess fat from the waist and thighs. Dhanurasana helps in reducing the belly fat, strengthens the ankles, thighs, groins, chest, abdominal organs and spinal cord, improves the functions of kidney, pancreas, liver, small and big intestine. It also gives flexibility to the back and removes gases. Surya Namaskar reduces the symptoms of lower back pain, shortens labour, improves birth outcomes, reduces sleep disturbances and hypertension. It also increases energy and decreases fatigue and are beneficial for asthma and chronic diseases. These are just a few to list. You will achieve all of these benefits on your own, without spending a penny.
Moreover, you can perform other exercises if you wish after practising asana because practising asana won’t cause any tiredness. So that’s like a cherry on the cake, isn’t it? Caution! What should be taken care of while practising yoga asana? Before putting in your leg, you should always learn about the possibilities of injury and take necessary precautions. Follow all the guidelines and take precautions. Watch an entire video session. Consult your doctor before practising yoga asanas because one size doesn’t fit all. Listen to your body. Don’t exert. Don’t use force. Nor should you allow someone else to do so. Be responsible. Gently stretch the boundaries of your limitations. Don’t practice yoga during your menstruation. Avoid asanas that elevate your pelvis. In case of pregnancy and other health issues like high blood pressure, heart and circulation problems you should always consult your doctor before practising asana. Yeah, that’s all! REMEMBER: Our body gives us back; what we give in. so, let's integrate this into our daily routine. Experience the change for yourself!
