Meditation is free, it’s powerful, can be practiced by anyone, everywhere, is extremely beneficial and can help us to feel happier.Meditation isn’t about becoming a different person, a new person, or even a better person. It’s about training in awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective. You’re not trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings. You’re learning to observe them without judgment. And eventually, you may start to better understand them as well. Meditation is a skill. It is a skill which everyone should learn Learning to meditate is like learning any other new skill.
Think of it like exercising a muscle that you’ve never really worked out before. It takes consistent practice to get comfortable. And it’s usually easier if you have a teacher. We’ve got you covered there. If we make a habit of meditating, we feel mentally fresh and we are able to deal with difficult situations more easily. To meditate it’s not necessary to be a Buddhist, Hindu or practice any religion, in fact, meditation has nothing to do with religion. Lord Buddha was asked what you gained from meditation?
He replied Nothing however let me tell you what I lost Anger, Anxiety, Depression, Insecurity, Fear of Old Age and Death. Number of people practising meditation are increasing but then too there are very less people who meditate everyday. How do most people start meditation? Most meditations begin by sitting in a quiet place, closing the eyes, calming the mind, and focusing on the breath. But there’s more to meditating than sitting quietly and breathing. When we meditate, we are essentially cultivating awareness and compassion; we are training the mind to stop being easily distracted and instead be more focused in the present moment. Using the breath as our anchor in the moment, we simply sit and gradually learn to let thoughts and feelings come and go. What are the benefits of meditation? 1. Reduces Stress. 2. Promotes Emotional health. 3. Increases Self- Awareness. 4. Kindness can be generated. 5. Helps control pain. 6. Improves Sleep. 7. Increases Concentration. 8. Helps in decision making.
