Residents living at places near India- Nepal borders, claims that they have heard Anti - India songs on their radios, as they can catch the frequency of radio stations of the neighboring country, Nepal. There seems a sudden surfeit of Anti- India songs, that calls for return of areas of Uttrakhand like Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiyadhura that have been added in Kathmandu's new map. These songs basically taunt the Nepal government to fight for their land in India. Many Indian local residents who live near the Nepal border said that they have heard many Anti- India songs on Nepalese Radio.
These radio stations play them in every next hour, for multiple times. The lyrics of some of these songs are " Hamrai ho to Kalapani, Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura. Utha, Jaga, veer Nepali ", which means Kalapani, Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura are ours. Wake up, Brave people. Most of these songs are about Lipulekh and Kalapani in which they claim that these lands belong to the Nepalese. The news broadcasting on the Nepali Radio stations are totally one-sided and show India in a bad light. Madan Kaushik, a state spokesperson said that this situation needs a tough call and is a genuine one, a government which is focusing on setting up a community radio, will definitely give a thought to start a local radio station in Pithoragarh ( a town in Uttarakhand) too.
