Gyms to Reopen After 6 Months in Capital Except in Containment Zone

After 6 months of lockdown, govt. has decided to allow gym owners to reopen the gyms, except in the containment zone area. Every gym has to follow the SOP’s laid by the government. As per the directives, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and the other departments concerned shall be responsible for strict compliance of the SOP’s laid down by the government. If any rule is violated, the owner and the manager will be held liable for the prosecution under DDMA Act 2005, besides sealing of such premises.


However, the spa, sauna, and swimming will remain shut. Also, pregnant women, persons above 65 years of age, people with co-morbidities, and children below the age of 10 are advised not to use gyms.


Central Public works department as set some guidelines for air conditioning and ventilation which states that the temperature setting of air conditioning devices should be in the range of 24-30 degrees Celsius, relative humidity should be in the range of 40-70%, intake of fresh air should be as much as possible and cross ventilation should be adequate.
