Firoz Nadiadwala, Bollywood producer was sentenced for three months by a Mumbai Court. He was sentenced because of delay in the payment of tax for the year 2009-10. The total amount not paid was Rs. 8.56 lakh. He was found guilty under relevant provisions and hence was sentenced for 3 months. He has produced some of the Bollywood hits like Hera Pheri and Welcome. An income tax officer filed a complaint against him in March 2014. He stated that the producer had not only failed to pay the amount but also not given any valid reason for doing so.
