Qualifier 1: Bowlers & Suryakumar help Mumbai Indians win over CSK

Mumbai Indians 132 for 4 (Suryakumar 71*, Kishan 28, Tahir 2-33) beat Chennai Super Kings 131 for 4 (Rayudu 42*, Dhoni 37*, Rahul Chahar 2-14) by six wickets

Mumbai Indians have wrapped up the win with nine balls remaining at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday, May 7, with Suryakumar unbeaten on 71 off 54. Mumbai Indians become the first team to qualify for the final of IPL 2019.

They've beaten Super Kings on their home ground, the MA Chidambaram Stadium, for the sixth time in all competitions. MS Dhoni wins toss, opts to bat first and where restricted to 131/4 in 20 over by Mumbai Indians. Both teams went in with three spinners, a leg spinner, and off spinner and a left-arm orthodox spinner and Mumbai's bowlers outperformed Super Kings' on the day. Whereas the pitch wasn't straightforward to bat on, 131 seemed a below-par total considering Chennai Super Kings only lost four wickets. However CSK will get another chance to make it to their eighth summit clash as they will now play the second Qualifier against the winner of the 'Eliminator' between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Chennai Super Kings faced the difference which was created by the three Mumbai Indians spinners Rahul Chahar (2/14 in 4 overs), Krunal (1/21 in 4 overs) and Jayant Yadav (1/25 in 3 overs), who gave away only 60 runs in the 11 overs between them meanwhile took four wickets.

While batting Suryakumar help Mumbai Indians win over CSK. Suryakumar was dropped by a diving Vijay at mid-on by 11^th over, chance created by Deepak Chahar. Suryakumar made Super Kings pay for the miss, using his feet well to get to the pitch of the ball as often as he could, or waiting on the back foot to use the pace of the bowler. Ravindra Jadeja and Tahir are among the quicker spinners in world cricket, and Suryakumar guided both of them deftly to the third man boundary in the 13th and 14th overs, the second of those shots bringing up his fifty facing 37 balls.
