DU's first cut-off to be expected by the end of June.
The online registration for this year's Under graduate courses will be continued till 22 June, and the cut-off will be released by the end of the month.
According to the officials, the Delhi High Court on Friday has asked the varsity to extend its registration dates till 22nd of June. As of result of which the dates of cutoffs are getting pushed back now.
The procedure of registration for admission started on 30 May, and was going to continue till 11:59 of June 14th. However the decision from the High Court has led to changes in the dates. Aspiring students can now register till 22 June.
"We will have to study the order and make changes to the portal and other systems in place. The first cut-off was to be released on June 22 but now it will most likely come out by June 29 or 30. This would mean that the admission process will be delayed by 10 days," an official said.
By Friday's 11:44 pm more than 3.40 lakh students had already registered themselves with the official website. Out of which 2,38,962 students have completed their payments.
As per Rasal Singh, a member of the standing committee on admissions, there should be a bracket of officials who work throughout the year and collect opinions and than only finalise admission norms. He also added that the air will get cleared by Saturday.
The High Court has demanded the Delhi University and the UGC University Grants Commission to let the students register and apply for admission till 22 June and also let them follow the eligibility criteria of session 2018-19.
High Court's justices - Anu Malhotra and Talwant Singh took the decision of extending the dates of registration for UG courses offered by DU.
