2nd June is celebrated as National Cancer Survivors Day,it is celebrated every year on the first Sunday of June. It is an international event celebrated for all the cancer survivor i.e one who is diagnosed with cancer and are still surviving and hoping for a better life. On this auspicious day know something about St Jude which is a non-profit organisation built for helping the young children to fight against cancer. St Jude is a non profitable organisation build in Mumbai in 2006.St Jude till today has 35 centres with 435 family units in Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Delhi, Hyderabad, Guwahati and etc it works with the hospitals like Tata Memorial Hospital, Tata Medical Centre in Kolkata, AIIMS in New Delhi, and many other in Hyderabad, Jaipur, Vellore.
As the cancer patient doesn’t need to stay in hospital during the treatment but has to come many times so the patient should stay somewhere near the hospitals. So here is St Jude that provides shelter to underprivileged families. This organisation provides a free and clean place to stay for the parents during their child’s treatment. Allowing, them to save the expensive rent of the rooms. The families of the survivor can stay in any centre of St Jude as long as the treatment is going on. So the cancer survivor says "Great thanks to St Jude that brings the light in our dark life".
