Harmanpreet Kaur leads Supernovas to Women’s T20 Challenge title
Chasing the scoe of 122 harmanpreet scored a stubborn 51 runs of 39 balls which took the match to the last ball. radha yadav scored a last ball boundary to pursue them to the victory by four wickets. s: Sent into bat, Velocity suffered a batting collapse and were tottering at 37/5 in the eighth over before Amelia Kerr (36) and Sushma Verma (40 not out) stitched 71 runs for the sixth wicket to take their side to a respectable total of 121/6.
Had it not been for the superb late fightback by Kerr and Verma, Velocity would not have even crossed the 100-run mark. Supernovas started off well with openers Priya Punia and Jemimah Rodrigues forging a quick 44-run stand. But after the first time-out, Bangladesh’ Jahanara Alam struck twice to bring about a collapse, eventually leaving the responsibility on Harmanpreet. However, a brilliant penultimate over by Shikha Pandey kept Velocity in the hunt.
