Chinese Smartphone creator Xiaomi has teased launch of a new Redmi Smartphone named as  the Redmi Note 7S. The company in an announcement on micro blogging website Twitter said that it will launch Redmi Note 7S with 48-megapixel camera on May 20 in India.

"India ?? #RedmiNote India ?? #48MP So we've decided to get you both! ?? #RedmiNote7S - An all-new SUPER Redmi Note for all our India Mi fans is coming! #48MPForEveryone unveils on 20th May. Mark your calendars!" read the post on Twitter. https://twitter.com/manukumarjain/status/1128881221360947200

Redmi also shared an image of the Earth which has a watermark giving an assurance that the Note 7S will come with a dual camera setup. The company hasn't revealed any other specification of this upcoming smartphone, but it's worth noting that the picture of Earth it has shared today is similar to the ones captured by the Chinese Redmi Note 7 which was sent to outer space recently.

The Note series has been a massive hit in India and earlier this year, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro, both been a massive success. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer claims to have sold over 2 million units of the smartphones since March.

The Redmi Note 7S will be a phone that will be almost exactly the same as the Redmi Note 7 except its new 48-megapixel camera. The 48-megapixel camera will help Xiaomi bump up the price and sell it to around Rs 11,500 - rightly according to me that this will again be a very nice phone. It can't possibly go above that because then it will be clashing with the Redmi Note 7 Pro, which sells for Rs 13,999. And it won't be under Rs 10,000 because of the Redmi Y3.

On May15, Redmi teased the launch of the Redmi K20 in India with Snapdragon 855 SoC, and it remains to be seen if this flagship will debut in India next week alongside the Note 7S. The K20 is also expected to come with a pop-up camera and bezel-less display, a design choice pioneered and made popular by the company’s Chinese rival, Vivo.
