Lok Sabha Elections 2019:Parties gear up for 5th Phase

With 64 per cent voter turnout for 72 seats across nine states the fourth phase of Lok Sabha polls on Monday 29April came to an end.Phase 5 of Lok Sabha elections will be held on May 6,2019 for a total of 51 constituencies in 7 States including Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.


Campaigning is being done with full swing for the remaining phases and with 5th phase approaching leaders of several political parties addressing public rallies at various places across the country.
 

A fire broke out at Shastri Bhawan on Tuesday 30 April following which Congress President Rahul Gandhi targeted PM Modi by tweeting “Modi ji burning files is not going to save you. Your day of judgement is coming.”


Prime Minister Narendra Modi held rallies in Bahraich and Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh and Muzaffarpur in Bihar on Tuesday.Addressing a rally at Muzaffarpur, the PM alleged that the Opposition of trying in installing a weak government at the Centre and asserted of this Lok Sabha election to be not only about government formation, but also a decisive factor of India's position in the global context in the 21st century.


In another rally he alleged both BSP and SP of looting the state when they were in power and their main agenda to be removing him from power.


BSP leader Mayawati attacked the Modi government in her rally in Dhaurahra saying that the scheme of giving 6,000 rupees annual financial assistance is just peanuts for farmers of this country.


Samajwadi party president Akhilesh Yadav also targeted BJP in a public meeting in Banda and alleged  Yogi Government to have brought encounter culture in the state and not done single development work.

Meanwhile,Priyanka Gandhi Vadra,Congress General secretary held a roadshow in Amethi and also addressed several rallies there.

While addressing the issue of foreign origin of his brother and Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra called Subramanian Swamy’s claim to be baseless.


The incharge of east UP for congress said “Rahul Gandhi is an Indian by birth and Everyone knows he was born and raised here,”.UP chief Minister ,Yogi Adityanath and  BJP president,Amit Shah also addressed several election rallies yesterday.
 

Addressing an election rally at Dausa on tuesday, BJP President Amit Shah said “NDA government has worked for the security of India and has given appropriate replies to terrorists.”
 

Election for the total of 542 Lok Sabha constituency is being conducted in seven phases from April 11 to May 19 2019.However,the election in Vellore constituency of Tamil Nadu stands cancelled following the reports of excess use of money power. Results will be declared on May 23 which will decide who will form the next government.
