Civil Services Examination, conducted by Union Public Service  Commission is one of the toughest examinations in India. This examination tests patience , perseverence and grit to achieve the desired target and those who fit its demands , turn out to be the magnificient bureacratsresponsible for the country's development. The process of preparation has always set a benchmark in transforming the aspirants psychologically and emotionally . CSE is divided into three parts i.e. the Preliminary examination, the Mains examination and the Personality test.

With just one month left for the preliminary examination to begin , here are some tips too keep the heat off the mind :

1) Time Management :

A lot can happen in 24 hours if we really know how to divide it and devote ourselves to studies. In the last month there should be a proper time division to prepare for GS ( General Studies) paper 1 and GS  paper 2 which is the C-SAT( Civil Services Aptitude Test) paper.

2) More importance to GS paper 1 :

One should be aware of the general awareness paper is only considered for shortlisting the candidates for the next stage of selection process i.e., the Mains examination. Whereas the C-SAT paper only needs 33% and mostly is a qualifying paper , the General studies paper carries more weightage.

3) Mock Tests :

One should give as much mock tests as one can inorder to gain accuracy . Since Prelims is an objective based paper , it is seen that even the toppers cannot answer more than 40 - 45 questions accurately . What helps them cross this barrier is a thorough practice of mock tests which help them in analysis and strong guess work.

4) More weightage to Current Affairs:

For those who prepare for CSE they know how current affairs play a vital role in their preparation.No matter how much one prepare the static portion , current affairs should always be suprimposed in it because the GS paper 1 of Prelims focuses more on current affairs . Therefore , one should go for a year round current affairs compilation available in the market.

5) Practising previous years question papers:

Previous years question papers play an important role as they help in gaining insight into the pattern and type of the questions being asked in the examination. After being thorough with the last five to seven years question papers , one can be confident enough to prepare organizingly and pass the exam with flying colours.

6) Stay healthy:

It is true that success is important but not at the cost of health . A degrading health can turn down any success to its death . Therefore it is important to take care of one's health while preparation . One should stay hydrated and take a proper 8 hours of sleep every day inorder to have a stronger memory and healthy body.
