On Sunday, England won the World Cup Final on their home ground but the win brought a lot of controversy with it. Cricket enthusiasts have been since then questioning the rules forged by ICC International Cricket Council.The interpretation of the on-field umpires of the rules has been a severe debate. The awarding of 6 runs to England is been judged heavily. As per the rules, England got an extra run and was able to tie the match with New Zealand.After days-long debates all over the blue ball, ICC finally responded on the controversy. " comment on any decision made by the umpires. "
"The umpires take decisions on the field with their interpretation of the rules and we don't comment on any decisions as a matter of policy," an ICC spokesperson was quoted as saying by forxsports.com.au. The spokesperson added to this by saying the on-field umpires take decision based on their interpretation of the rule book of ICC.
