The latest news from the sets of Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma reveals that Disha Vakani aka Daya Ben has been replaced. Disha Vakani has been playing Dayaben for more than 10 years for now and she had left the show on a maternal leave 2 years back. However, she hasn't yet come back to the show. Reportedly, Disha had demands to which the producer of the show Asit Modi refused. Because of this, Disha Vakani has left the show. Now, it has been a hot minute since any of the characters from the set of Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chasma has spoken anything about the case, until Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal, in a recent interview has spoken that he misses Disha on the sets. Dilip Joshi said, "Disha has worked on the character for 10 years, which is not a short period. I understand that when a woman becomes a mother, her priorities change, but at the end of the day, she is also an artist. An artist cannot stay away for long from the set, and so, I am praying that Disha will soon want to come back to the show. She has worked hard to establish the character and should not let it go waste."

He said that he understands that a woman's priorities change when she becomes a mother but Disha had given 10 long years to build a character which should not let go. He said that he knows that the show goes on with or without the character, but since an artist cannot stay away for long from the sets, he prays Disha Vakani to come back soon as was the main character. Daya Ben and Jethalal were the blood of the show so, in short, they were the main characters to build up the show in the past years. He gave the example of the daily soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi in which Amar Upadhyay was replaced by Ronit Roy. The show still continued but that was a drama and this is a comedy show in which a character must have the comic timing which is really difficult to build.
