Australia's retailer Cotton On has entered Indian markets through Myntra. Cotton On is Australia's largest fashion retailer who has been successful to attain an excellent brand value. With the increasing Indian market, it has decided to seep into India through Myntra. Cotton On was established in 1991 and has been successful in spreading over 19 countries with more than 1500 retail stores.
Once Cotton On will successfully capture the Indian market, it will open its flagship store in either Mumbai or Delhi competing with brands like Forever 21 and H&M. The company has planned to establish its store in India in 2020. AVS Global Network, has contracted with the Australian company to launch the brand in India. AVS Global Network is a retailer of global fashion brands that sell through online platform. It has contracts with stores like Myntra, Jabong and Flipkart.
“About 77 per cent of online fashion brand consumers use either Flipkart, Myntra or Jabong to shop, as they have a high brand-recall value. This is why we thought it would be wise to introduce Cotton On to India through these platforms.” said Sumanto Das, co-founder of AVS.
