Mahesh Manjrekar was widely appreciated as the host for the first season, and the actor-filmmaker did not need a lot of prodding to return. Mahesh Manjrekar recently interacted with the media at the press meet of the show. At the sidelines of the conference, he sat down with Indian Express for an exclusive chat about the new season of Big Boss Marathi. He said, “I was actually quite eager. There was recently a buzz that the makers were planning to get a new host. While I was keen to come back, I would have been okay if they thought there was someone better to do the job. Honestly, I love Big Boss Marathi. I act because it pays me well but I don’t really like it. But this show is something I really enjoy and have fun doing it. I got a great response. Some might not have liked my work, especially the ones who would have wanted to host it. But that’s how it is. However, I am happy with the feedback I got from the industry and others too. Mahesh Manjrekar also added, “It is an amazing show.
I really enjoy and have fun doing it. This show has taught me a lot. I also admire some participants like Megha Dhade for her courage to fight against all the odds coming her way, amazed with Pushkar Jog’s transformation through the show and then there was Smita Gondkar, who was actually lost in her world and became my punching bag to get some laughs. But I realized that she never became badmouthed anyone ever. This show has proved that you don’t need to be a star to connect with the audience. It is one of the unique shows. You get to see so many characters, it is a study of human psychology. Hats off to John de Mol who designed such a brilliant show”.
