Ab devillers wanted to come out of retirement, but rejected

South African legend ab de Villiers made an offer to come out of the international retirement and be a part of the south African team for the tournament. but the offer was rejected by the South African team management on the eve of their final squad announcement.
it is for the first time that South Africa has lost its first three games in the tournament. first, the lost to England then their third game to India. they have been let down by their batting side. they have issues with players as most of the players are suffering from injuries. they aren't able to cope and they need to come up with new strategies.
it is understood that there were two main reasons behind the team management rejecting the offer. first, he retired just a year ago in 2018 the world cup schedule was announced. secondly, he did not fulfill the selection cuteria which included him to play domestic cricket or international cricket in the intervening months
