In India’s 95 runs comeback win over Bangladesh in the second World Cup warm-up match, KL Rahul styling 100 at 4 and Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s coming back to his old day's form were the highlights of this warm-up session. Rahul’s 108 runs off 99 balls were much needed after the early dismissals whereas Dhoni’s majestic 113 runs off 78 balls giving India a combined 164 run stand leading India towards an over par score 357/7.
Bangladesh pick of batsmen was Liton Das (73) and Mushfiqur Rahim (90) adding 120 run partnership for the third wicket but the Bangladeshi team never looked in control as they were bowl out for 264 in 49.3 overs. From a bowling point of view, spin duo Yadav and Chahal were the picks as Kuldeep Yadav takes /47 in 10 overs and Yuzvendra Chahal takes 3/55 in 10 overs giving the spin duo much-needed confidence before the World Cup group stages begin.
It was a piece of cake for Virat and his men as the pacers trio of Bumrah, Shami and Bhuvenshwar only have to bowl 14 overs out of the 50 overs. Captain Virat and Coach Shastri biggest gain will be the KL Rahul’s knock after a lot of talk on who will be the India No. 4th. The Number 4 vacant position was a hot topic as there are a lot of suitors for this batting position. But this looks all is set good.
Both batsmen Dhoni and Rahul have a contrasting approach in the match, Rahul keeping the innings running with his both composed and power hitting centuries, while Dhoni doing what he usually does taking innings to the end and blasting off.
