Ambedkar University to include a 10% reservation for EWS category.

Ambedkar University is sanctioning a 10 % reservation for the student of EWS Economically Weaker Section category. With the introduction of the new category, the varsity will be reopening its portal for the registration. The portal will only be open for the students for EWS category. On Wednesday, the portal will reopen. Admission registration for Undergraduate courses started on May 3, and for Postgraduate May 2. The last date for registration is June 24. The University was set up the Delhi Government, and is a state government run varsity. For implementing the new quota of 10% the portal for registrations will again be opening. The reopened portal is solely for  the registration who falls under the category of EWS. 26 June the portal will reopen and will stay active till 30 June, so that the new reservation can be implemented for eligible students. The dates are the same for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes.

 

 

"The university is implementing the reservation in a phased manner. In academic session 2019-20, 10 per cent reservation will be implemented and 15 per cent will be implemented in the next academic session," the university said in a statement.

 

 

The students who have already registered themselves with the university need not to repeat the process. However, they need to upload required documents to avail the  reservation. The Human Resource Department Ministry has said that they plan of admitting a 10% reservation for the Economically Weaker Section. Along with this they also plan for increasing the seats in higher educational institutions and universities by around 25%.​
