Shovan Mandal a West Bengal HS toppers secured 99.6% to become doctor

The results are hosted on the official results’ portal of West Bengal - wbresults.nic.in. While the overall pass percentage for WB 12th Results 2019 has jumped to 86.92% from 83.75% last year, boys have outperformed girls with 87.44% and 85.30% pass percentages, respectively. Shovan Mandal and Rajarshi Barman have been declared joint toppers for West Bengal Class 12th Exams 2019. Both the state toppers have obtained 498/500 i.e. 99.6% marks.
The West Bengal Higher Secondary (HS) examination result was declared today and 18-year-old Shovan Mondal from Birbhum Zilla School topped scoring 498 marks. The 18-year-old hails from Katdigha village, 30 kilometer away from Birbhum town, and scored full 100 marks in Bengali, Maths and Chemistry , 99 marks in English, 99.5 in Biology, 99.5 in Physics. Shovan said “Our headmaster Chandan Saha and all the teachers helped us a lot.
The school teachers devoted extra time to sort our queries. They organised doubt clearance classes, two months before the examinations and that helped the students a lot". Shovan also appeared in the NEET – medical entrance examination this year. “I aspire to become a doctor. Shovan says In case if I score low, I will re-appear for AIIMS MBBS and NEET next year. I am looking to move to Kolkata for preparation".
