Objection by the DU's council members on the changes in the admission criteria

This year the Delhi University or popularly known as DU, has introduced a set of changes in the eligibility criteria of aspiring students. These changes are been objected by the council members of the varsity itself. The students are very much confused because of these various changes.
The percentage required for seeking admission in this highly aspired university has further stepped up. DU is famous for its over the notch cutoff which guilds between 90-95%, which is further getting high after the changes these years.
Five members of the DU authority are objecting against these changes. The academic council department AC along with EC Execution council have written to the Vice Chancellor of the varsity about the arbitrary changes, which they said lacked approvals from the statutory bodies. The letter sent out by EC members J L Gupta and Rajesh Jha, and AC members Seema Das, Sudhanshu and Pradeep Kumar, mentioned how these changes are affeting the admission of the reserved categories.
“These changes are arbitrary, unwarranted and uncalled for, as admissions are finalised on the basis of merit as reflected in the cut-offs of various courses, thus causing chaos among students,” they wrote, and demanded that the earlier criteria be restored.
The changes implemented in the eligibility criteria have created a lot of confusion among the students. The set of change include the mandatory inclusion of the score of maths in the BOF best of four for the admission in Eco(Hons), also the various percentage of score in English subject for various different subjects. The required percentage has also increased because of all the changes.
