World Cup 2019: England Vs Pakistan is the 6th match of the World Cup tournament. England may change a winning World Cup side by recalling fast bowler Mark Wood when they face Pakistan at Trent Bridge on Monday. The ground is renowned as a batsman’s paradise, with England having twice set the world record for the highest score in a one-day international -- 444 for three against Pakistan in 2016 and last year’s 481 for six -- on the very pitch that will be used for Monday’s match at Trent Bridge. Sarfaraz Ahmed-led Pakistan suffered an embarrassing seven-wicket defeat to the West Indies at the same venue on Friday.
England will be feeling very confident against Pakistan in this match having soundly defeated them by 4-0 in the ODI series before this tournament got underway. With Ben Stokes getting runs, wickets and marvelous catches, and Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy and Joe Root also making fifties they will be thinking they can repeat the results of the very recent past. On the other side Pakistan, there are some serious question issues. Against the West Indies they were battered and bruised by the short ball, with Andre Russell and Oshane Thomas both having them hopping around. With England likely to play Liam Plunkett, Jofra Archer and potentially Mark Wood, there will be a good chance that a number of short balls at very decent pace will be heading their way.
Monday's match will also be an important test for what World Cup organisers insist will be improved procedures after thousands of frustrated fans were left queuing for hours on Friday, in some cases missing the entire Pakistan innings, as they waited to collect their match tickets.
