Chennai Super Kings 151/ 4 (Watson 50, du Plessis 50) beat Delhi Capitals 147/ 9 (Pant 38, Bravo 2-19, Jadeja 2-23) by six wickets.
In Qualifier 2 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday, May 10, 2019 defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 6 wickets played at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The IPL 2019 final will be Chennai Super Kings v Mumbai Indians. The two most successful franchises in the IPL will fight it out for the trophy once again after MS Dhoni's men produced a marvelous performance in a must-win game.
After electing to bowl, the Super Kings kept picking up wickets at regular intervals, thanks to Dwayne Bravo, Imran Tahir and Harbhajan Singh. In their spell of 12 overs Delhi Capitals fetch only 78 runs and were brought down by five wickets. Chennai Super Kings never let the Delhi Capitals off the hook and restricted them to 147-9. CSK needing 148 to win, they had their openinng partnership come good as Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson both hit fifties and added 81 runs in each other’s company. After they were sent back to pavilion, Suresh Raina (11), Ambati Rayudu (19 not out) and MS Dhoni (9) took their team closer to the target. CSK got over the line off the last ball of the 19thover when Dwayne Bravo collected four leg byes off Ishant Sharma resulting Chennai Super Kings victory by 6 wickets with one over still remaining.
Man of the match was given to Faf du Plessis, for his 39-ball 50.
