World Cup 2019: Journey of India begins, vs South Africa

Journey of World Cup 2019 of team India will begin on Wednesday, June 5, against South Africa at the Rose Bowl stadium in Southampton. India will open their World Cup 2019 campaign, South Africa is the first to be faced. India is the only team yet to play in the ICC cricket tournament, whereas some of the other teams have already played two matches. For Example- this would be South Africa’s third match after two consecutive losses, first in the tournament opener against England, May 30th and second against Bangladesh, June 2nd.
As per a report in News 18, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to make changes with the schedule and give India a delayed start. India was earlier supposed to play their first World Cup match on June 02 against Bangladesh. The whole schedule change comes in the wake of the Lodha reforms that state that the team has to have a 15-day breather between consecutive tournaments. With IPL finishing on May 12, although the 15-day break concludes on May 27 which is well before the starts of India’s earlier scheduled match that was, June 02.
