A day after the election results, Rahul Gandhi leader of the Congress party had taken 100 percent responsibility for the party's failure and told 52 members that he would resign. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who appears to stay firm on his decision to step down following the party's decision in the Lok Sabha election made it clear.
He believes that he is not the right person for the job and will not get involved in the process of selection of his new successor. Congress has already petitioned the CVC for the probe into alleged corruption in the fighter jet deal. the government has denied any corruption wrongdoing.
